Alliance Bank Partners MyTaman to Expand Virtual Credit Card Accessibility to 150,000 Users

Kuala Lumpur, 14 June 2024 - Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (“Alliance Bank” or the “Bank”) today announced a strategic collaboration with MyTaman, a smart community security app, to expand the reach of the Bank’s Visa Virtual Credit Card (“VCC”) with Dynamic Card Number (“Dynamic Card Number”). The partnership aims to empower 150,000 MyTaman users with a safe and convenient solution to manage their finances digitally at their fingertips, offering them the flexibility to conduct online transactions with greater peace of mind.

The collaboration between Alliance Bank and MyTaman brings together two frontrunners in their respective fields. Alliance Bank's Visa VCC is powered by cutting-edge technology and digital innovation to offer users a secure and flexible way to transact online. Similarly, MyTaman enhances community management through digitalisation, offering a seamless experience for residents. The app simplifies property handover processes and features a cloud-based visitor management system for increased security and convenience. This partnership signifies a synergy between advanced technologies, empowering individuals to manage their payments securely while fostering a more streamlined community experience.

The integration with our Virtual Credit Card further elevates MyTaman’s offering by providing users with cash advance services, bill payments, and enhanced security features such as freezing and deleting cards, as well as enabling one-time use capabilities for their e-commerce purchases.”

The first 100 MyTaman app existing users who sign up for the Alliance Bank Visa VCC will be entitled to a ‘Buy 1 Get 1 Free’ promotion on beverages from One Afternoon CafĂ© located at Atria Shopping Mall, Damansara when using the VCC DuitNow function. Additionally, the first 100 new customers of MyTaman app are entitled to receive a complimentary beverage from the same participating partner upon presenting their VCC via the MyTaman app. Both offers are valid from 6 June 2024 till 6 July 2024.

This latest partnership builds on the momentum of strategic partnerships that Alliance Bank has forged since the launch of VCC in April 2023 to expand its reach. Its partnerships with MCash, Dentalmall, WOW Fintech, RedOne and Virtualflex reflect the Bank’s focus on continuous digital transformation to deliver unique solutions to customers. The Bank has since registered a 60% increase in its credit card user base since the introduction of VCC.
The Alliance Bank Visa VCC is the country’s first such credit card with an in-app Dynamic Card Number feature that generates a randomised single-use 16-digit number for every online transaction including e-commerce, subscription and streaming services. The VCC is also ESG-friendly as it is cardless and thus, reduces the use of resources. The fully online application process is fast and simple, with digital submission of supporting documents such as EPF statements or salary slips.
