Whistleblowing: Alliance Bank's Commitment to Ethical Standards

Alliance Bank is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical, moral and legal conduct across all our business and operational activities. This page sets out what you can report, how to report it, and the protection available to you if you do. You do not need to be an employee to raise a concern, this channel is open to all employees (current and former), as well as to customers, vendors, service providers, contractors, agents, consultants, business partners, shareholders and any other person who becomes aware of actual or suspected misconduct involving the Bank or any of its directors or employees.

What you can report

Examples of misconduct, wrongdoing, or irregularities include, but are not limited to:

This list is not exhaustive and includes any conduct that may be illegal, unethical, improper, or contrary to the Bank’s policies, values, and regulatory obligations. If your concern relates instead to a product, service, transaction or level of service, please use the Bank’s customer service channels, which are equipped to resolve those matters directly. Any concern raised here that is not a whistleblowing matter will be referred to the appropriate team for handling, and your identity will continue to be protected.

How to report

If you become aware of any of the above occurring, or about to occur, within Alliance Bank, we encourage you to report it through either of the following channels, which go directly to the independent Non-Executive Directors responsible for addressing fraud and misconduct:

Additionally, the following external reporting channels can also be used to make a report:

What to include in your report

Please provide as much information as possible. The more detail you give, the better we can assess and investigate the matter, and this is particularly important if you choose not to identify yourself. Useful information includes:

Good faith and your protection

Concerns should be raised in good faith and based on a reasonable belief that the information provided is substantially true. You are not required to prove your allegation, and no action will be taken against you solely because a concern raised in good faith turns out to be unsubstantiated. The Bank may, however, take appropriate action against any person who knowingly makes a false report, acts in bad faith or misuses this channel.

If you make a report in good faith, your identity will be treated as confidential and disclosed only to those authorised to handle the matter, on a strict need-to-know basis. You may choose to remain anonymous or to identify yourself when making a report. The Bank will also take reasonable steps to protect you from retaliation, victimisation, harassment, intimidation, adverse employment action or other forms of adverse treatment. This protection may extend, where relevant and reasonable, to persons associated with the whistleblower, persons assisting the whistleblower, witnesses, investigation participants and persons wrongly suspected of being the whistleblower.

Whether you work with us, bank with us or do business with us, your vigilance and integrity help us uphold the values and reputation of Alliance Bank.
