What Is AEIOU Seeds for Life?
AEIOU Seeds for Life is a financial literacy programme designed to help schoolchildren aged 9 to 14 develop good money habits from a young age. Originally created for children aged 9–12, the programme has expanded to include secondary school students up to age 14, from 2026 onwards.
AEIOU has evolved beyond financial literacy to include biodiversity awareness, helping students learn to save, spend wisely, and make smart money choices through fun, interactive experiences while understanding how their everyday decisions impact the environment.
Launched in 2015, AEIOU was inspired by Bank Negara Malaysia’s objective to strengthen financial literacy through the School Adoption Programme. As one of the first financial literacy initiatives delivered through engaging, hands‑on activities, AEIOU reaches schools across both urban and rural areas, with a strong focus on supporting students from underserved communities.
