FAQs about Alliance Bank Malaysia's Foreign Currency Accounts

Malaysian aged 18 years and above (including permanent residents) with valid documents such as NRIC, letter of employment, overseas university acceptance letter, and others.

A normal current account is available for individuals (Malaysian citizens, permanent residents, and foreigners) aged 18 years and above with a minimum deposit of RM500.

A foreign currency account is available for individuals (Malaysian citizens and permanent residents) aged 18 years and above with a minimum deposit of 1,000 units of the desired foreign currency.

You can open an Alliance Xchange Account via the Alliance-Portal. Alternatively, you can open your Foreign Currency Account at any Alliance Bank branch or contact your relationship manager for more assistance.

Foreign Currency Current Account requires a minimum of FCY1,000 equivalent in foreign currencies, except for Japanese Yen (JPY), which requires a minimum deposit of JPY 10,000.(Initial placement may vary from Alliance Xchange Account and promotional packages).

You can fund your Foreign Currency Account through your current/savings account at any Alliance Bank branch or contact your relationship manager for more assistance., or via Telegraphic Transfer (TT).

You can request the monthly statement of your foreign currency account electronically via Allianceonline Portal and Allianceonline Mobile App. Alternatively, you can request a hardcopy statement at any Alliance Bank branch, subject to a fee.
