Alliance Bank Launches New High Interest Account, Alliance SavePlus

Alliance Bank offers high-yield current account of up to 3.5% per annum to existing and new customers

Kuala Lumpur, 3 May 2018 – Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (“Alliance Bank”) has launched Alliance SavePlus Account, a new current account proposition that enables customers to place their monies in a high yield account with attractive interest rates and easy access to their funds anytime.

Designed with the needs of both business owners and individual investors in mind, Alliance SavePlus Account offers high interest rates on total account balance and waiver for all transaction fees, bringing greater value to the Bank’s growing network of customers.

Alliance SavePlus Account offers account holders the flexibility to access their cash at their convenience. Without a lock-in period, customers can withdraw their monies for business or emergency purposes without forfeiting the interest gained.

Following the Overnight Policy Rate revision of +25 basis points announced earlier this year, Alliance Bank increased SavePlus Account’s interest rate by 50 basis points to 3.5% per annum for balances above RM100,000. The interest is calculated based on daily balances, and credited into the account on a monthly basis.

Account holders who maintain a minimum monthly average balance of RM10,000 will also get to enjoy a waiver on transaction fees for MEPS, Interbank Fund Transfer (IBFT), and Interbank GIRO (IBG), as well as debit card annual fee.

Mr Suparman Kusuma, Executive Vice President and Head, Group Consumer Banking of Alliance Bank said, “With the economy and consumer sentiments gradually picking up, we know that customers are looking to grow their cash effectively now more than ever, to prepare for investments and future business expansions.”

“Through surveys and research, we discovered that customers are experiencing difficulties finding a bank account that offers a high interest rate with minimal barriers. By offering the low maintenance Alliance SavePlus Account, we hope the product will serve existing and new customers well,” he added.
