Transition of Islamic Current and Savings Account from Wadi’ah Yad Dhamanah to Qard

Dear valued customers,

We wish to inform you that Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has issued a policy document on qard dated 26 February 2018 which requires all Islamic financial institutions to revise the underlying Shariah contract of their existing Islamic current account and savings account (“CASA-i”) products from wadi’ah yad dhamanah to qard.

In order to comply with the abovementioned qard policy document, Alliance Islamic Bank (“the Bank”) will revise all its existing CASA-i products from wadi’ah yad dhamanah to qard by 31 July 2018.

The current CASA-i products offered by the Bank are listed below:

  1. Basic Current Account-i
  2. Basic Savings Account-i
  3. Current Account-i
  4. Savings Account-i
  5. Alliance Hybrid Account-i
  6. Alliance Elite Account-i
  7. Alliance SavePlus Account-i
  8. Alliance My eSavings Account-i
  9. Junior Smart Saver-i
  10. Alliance Premium Hybrid-i
  11. Alliance Premium Savings-i

Qard is a loan contract whereby the customer (lender) deposits funds with the Bank (borrower) and authorises the Bank via the terms and conditions for the deposit facility to utilise the funds for Shariah compliant investments and transactions. The Bank has the obligation to deliver the funds from the deposit to the customer upon demand.

Please note that you will not be required to sign any new documentation and you will continue to enjoy the existing benefits and services of the abovementioned products. Other than the change in underlying Shariah contract, the terms and conditions of the products and your deposit account number will remain unchanged. This will also be carried out at no cost to you.

The effective date of the revision and the revised Islamic Deposit Terms and Conditions will be published on our public website https://www.alliancebank.com.my/islamic/home.aspx for your reference. If you have any queries on the above, please contact our Customer Service at 03 – 5516 9988.

PERUBAHAN AKAUN SEMASA DAN AKAUN SIMPANAN ISLAM DARI WADI’AH YAD DHAMANAH KEPADA QARD

Kami ingin memaklumkan bahawa Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) telah mengeluarkan dokumen polisi berkenaan qard bertarikh 26 Februari 2018, di mana semua institusi kewangan Islam dikehendaki untuk menukar kontrak Shariah sedia ada bagi akaun semasa-i dan akaun simpanan-i (“CASA-i”) dari wadi’ah yad dhamanah kepada qard.

Bagi mematuhi dokumen polisi qard seperti yang dinyatakan di atas, Alliance Islamic Bank (“Bank”) akan menyemak semula kesemua produk CASA-i yang sedia ada dari wadi’ah yad dhamanah kepada qard pada 31 Julai 2018.

Produk-produk CASA-i yang ditawarkan oleh Bank disenaraikan di bawah:

Qard ialah kontrak pinjaman, dimana pelanggan (pemberi pinjaman) mendeposit wang dengan Bank dan memberi kebenaran kepada Bank melalui terma dan syarat kemudahan deposit untuk menggunakan wang tersebut bagi pelaburan dan transaksi yang patuh Shariah. Pihak Bank berkewajipan memberi wang deposit kepada pelanggan pada bila-bila masa.

Adalah dimaklumkan bahawa anda tidak perlu untuk menandatangani dokumen baru dan anda masih boleh menikmati manfaat dan perkhidmatan sedia ada yang disediakan bagi produk-produk di atas. Selain daripada perubahan dalam kontrak Shariah, terma-terma dan syarat-syarat produk serta nombor akaun deposit anda tidak berubah. Perubahan ini juga tidak akan melibatkan sebarang kos kepada anda.

Tarikh efektif bagi perubahan di atas serta terma-terma dan syarat-syarat Deposit Islam yang telah dikemaskini akan dipaparkan di laman web awam kami di https://www.alliancebank.com.my/islamic/home.aspx untuk rujukan anda.
