ALLIANCE PRESTIGECARE HELPS MALAYSIANS PLAN FOR RETIREMENT

Kuala Lumpur, 11 October 2007 - Recognising the need to help Malaysians plan for their retirement, Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad has introduced the Alliance PrestigeCare to enable customers to prepare for their retirement, financially, from an early age.

Alliance PrestigeCare is a participating whole life savings plan that provides an annual guaranteed cash payment at the end of the 10th policy year. It is also the first bancassurance plan in the industry to offer policy holders a lump sum Guaranteed Cash Payment upon reaching the age of 55 in addition to the insurance coverage on death or Total and Permanent Disability (TPD). Customers are also given the option to waive their premiums should they be diagnosed with any of the 36 Critical Illnesses.

Commenting on the Alliance PrestigeCare, Alliance Bank Consumer Banking Group Head, Liew Swee Lin said: "Generally, Malaysians are aware of the need to take a proactive role in retirement planning. However, many do not know how or who to approach to take that first step while others may be reluctant to consult a financial planner.

"Alliance PrestigeCare offers a viable solution to those who either want to take that first step towards retirement planning or to further consolidate their financial standing as retirement approaches."

Alliance PrestigeCare policyholders can look forward to a Guaranteed Cash Payment of 3.5% of the basic sum insured (or reduced basic sum assured where applicable) which will be due from the end of the 10th policy year onwards until they reach the age of 54. Upon reaching 55 years of age, they will receive a lump sum Guaranteed Cash Payment.

Thereafter, a Guaranteed Cash Payment of 5% of the basic sum assured (or reduced basic sum assured where applicable) will be due when the policyholder reaches 56 years old and they continue to receive this amount until they reach the age of 88.

Alliance PrestigeCare is underwritten by Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad and is open to all Malaysians from 30 days old to 45 years old with a minimum sum insured of RM25,000. The plan is available at all Alliance Bank branches located throughout Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
