APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER TO ALLIANCE BANK

Kuala Lumpur, 10 August 2005 – Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad wishes to announce the appointment of Ms. Bridget Lai as its Chief Executive Officer effective 1 September 2005.

Ms. Bridget Lai who joined Alliance Bank as a Director on 19 July 2005, is a Certified Financial Planner and holds a Master of Business Administration degree (with Distinction) from the University of Hull, United Kingdom.

Prior to joining Alliance Bank, she was attached to a foreign bank for more than 19 years, with vast experience in consumer banking and branch operations. Ms Lai also sits on the Board of Alliance Merchant Bank Berhad.
