THIRTEEN LUCKY WINNERS FOR ALLIANCE BANK "FAIRYTALE NO MORE" CAMPAIGN

Kuala Lumpur, 9 December 2004 -13 winners (12 weekly winners and one monthly winner) were greeted with a lucky surprise courtesy of Alliance Bank. The happiest of them all was Catherine Ho Chai Yin, who was presented with an all expense paid shopping trip to Hong Kong recently. She was Alliance Bank MasterCard's "Fairytale No More" monthly grand prize contest winner for the month of November. At the prize presentation ceremony, Sabrina Clyde, Senior General Manager, Corporate Branding and Communications of Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad officially handed over the mock prize to a euphoric Ho.

"When I received the call from Alliance Bank informing me that I won the grand prize for the month of November, I was very excited as it has made my dream a reality. I am very pleased with the fantastic contest concept which gives me the flexibility to choose from various prize options. Furthermore, Alliance Bank has actually made it possible for me to win a few times through this interesting campaign. I gained instant prizes upon signing up such as Golden Screen Cinema tickets and Seng Heng e-voucher for my approved card."

The campaign which runs from 1 November 2004 to 31 January 2005, gives successful new applicants and existing card members a chance to participate in a contest and win exciting and unique prizes. Card members are eligible to enter the contest with a minimum of RM100 retail transaction during the contest period and they have to rank their favourite fairytales. Participants who rank the fairytales closest to the popular vote will win.

Speaking at the prize giving ceremony for the grand prize winner and weekly winners, Clyde said, "The campaign was designed to meet the preferences of today's consumers who aspire to live a life that is more enhanced than they currently have and enjoy experiences that they could normally only dream off ".

The "Alliance Bank Fairytale No More" campaign is distinctively different from other similar credit card promotions as winners are given an option to choose one grand prize from a choice of up to four grand prizes every month and each is vastly different in terms of the type of experience it offers the winners.

Chin Fei Kim, Assistant General Manager, Issuing & Business Development, Cards Payment Services of Alliance Bank further elaborates, "The "Fairytale No More" campaign was designed as part of an innovative new concept to increase acquisition of new card members and encourage usage by enhancing the offerings of the Alliance MasterCard for its card members. Ho, the winner of November's grand prize has chosen the Shopping Haven prize which gives her the option of going on a three day two night trip with a loved one to Hong Kong. She and her partner will travel on Business Class and accommodation will be provided at the exclusive Peninsular Hotel in Hong Kong. The winner will also get to experience fine dinning at a renowned restaurant and will have a private limousine at her disposal throughout the stay. Ho has also won spending money of RM5, 000 which I am sure will come in handy when she shops in Hong Kong. This choice clearly gives the lucky winner the chance to experience something that may seem unattainable without this campaign. Hence for Ho, with the Alliance Bank MasterCard, her dreams are a "Fairytale No More".

The response to the contest was very encouraging. Other winners of the weekly prizes who chose three thousand ringgit to be credited into their Alliance Bank MasterCard account were John Kweku Bepono, Set Kwee Yong, Petra Elaine Pedley, Lim Lee Hua, Ng Wai Mun, Shymala Mary A/P Abishegam and Ang Yue Leong. Lee Shee Kin who won 2 weekly prizes said he was very happy as he had the option to select two cash prizes of RM3, 000. Ong Lee Thuan and Hor Chee Fei, both chose petrol vouchers valued at RM4, 000 as their weekly prize. Sharon Antius, another weekly prize winner decided to choose the Nokia 7610 as she was interested in a new hand phone.
