The AFG Recreational & Sports Club logo was officially launched during the AFG Annual Dinner 2009 on 21 February 2009. The Club is presently run by the Pro Tem Committee. The logo, which represents an active and healthy lifestyle, was selected from among 102 creative designs in a competition held amongst staff. Through the Club, good sportsmanship and teamwork are enhanced among employees, which is key to strengthening our values in building a resilient workforce! The Club will be embarking on a membership drive soon.

Tagged as the event of the year by staff, over 2,500 staff members attended the annual dinner themed "Denim and Diamonds". The event was attended by the Board of Directors and Datuk Bridget Lai shared the Group's achievements and expansion plans.

As an employer of choice, in recognition of the loyalty of our long-serving employees, 80 members of staff who served 15 years and 20 years service were presented with Certificates of Merit by Group CEO Datuk Bridget Lai with senior management in attendance in Klang Valley.

Organised by the AFG Recreational & Sports Club, more than 400 staff in over 100 cars participated in the Alliance Treasure Hunt 2009. The two-day/one-night hunt began in Kuala Lumpur and ended in Lumut, Perak.

The Bank enhanced the benefits of the new Alliance Staff MasterCard credit card. Staff now enjoy a reduced interest rate from 18% p.a. to 12% p.a. and receive double Timeless Bonus Points (TBP) for every Ringgit they spend. They also enjoy special merchant tie-up promotions and privileges which are exclusive only to Alliance Bank staff.
