Note: A person shall be entitled the claims in the event of loss only if:-
  1. any item insured shall not exceed the purchase price reflected on the billing statement or store receipt; or
  2. it will be pro-rated based upon the percentage the partial payment bears to the full purchase price for partial payment utilising Alliance Bank Platinum Credit Card; or
  3. items belonging to a pair/set will be paid for the full purchase price of the pair/set provided that the items are not usable/replaceable individually; or
  4. the loss exceeds the amount actually paid by other insurance.
Claim Procedures
 
  1. Purchases are indemnified for 30 days from the date of purchase.

  2. In the event of direct physical loss or damage, Cardmember must notify Ace Synergy Insurance Berhad within 45 days after the date of loss. Failure in doing so will result in loss of the insurance provided hereunder. Mode of notification are as per below:

  3. Cardmember must also return the completed and signed Loss Report to Ace Synergy Insurance Berhad (to the above address) within 90 days after the date of loss.
 

What is Loss Report?

Upon notifying Ace Synergy of the loss, Cardmember shall provide a signed Loss Report stating the time, place, cause of loss and the amount of loss or damage together with other substantiation of the loss including:

  1. Record of charge; and
  2. Store receipt; and
  3. Police, fire, insurance claim or other report of the occasion of the loss; and
  4. Any claim filed with insurers providing insurance against such loss or damage.
Scenario
 

Patrick bought a camera on 1 March 2009 but lost it on 15 March 2009 to burglary. Yet, because Patrick bought the camera not so long ago (still within 30 days from the date of purchase) using his Alliance Bank Platinum Credit Card, Patrick is now able to make claim for his lost camera but he must notify ACE within 45 days after the date of loss (or latest by 30 April 2009) and return the completed and signed Loss Report within 90 days after the date of loss (or latest by 15 June 2009).

Exclusions
 
There shall be no payment under the policy:

  1. for direct physical loss or damage to property as a result of direct physical abuse to the property by the Cardmember;

  2. for direct physical loss or damage to property where the property was procured by the Cardmember through fraud;

  3. for loss or damage to the following property:
    • Cash, or its equivalent, travellers cheques, tickets or any negotiable instruments;
    • Animals or living plants;
    • Jewellery and watches in baggage unless carried by hand and at all times under the personal supervision of the Cardmember or Cardmember's travelling companion, previously known to the Cardmember.
  4. for loss or damage arising from the following perils:
    • Flood and earthquake;
    • War, invasion, hostilities, rebellion, insurrection, confiscation by order of any government public authority or risks of contraband or losses arising from illegal activity or acts;
    • Normal wear and tear;
    • Mysterious disappearance;
    • Radioactive contamination;
    • Damage arising from inherent product defects;
    • Theft from a motor vehicle unless there is physical evidence of forcible entry and there is a report filed with the police within 48 hours of discovery.
