Dato' Thomas Lee was appointed to the Board of Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (ABMB) on 21 April 2006. He is a barrister at law (England) who holds a Master of Arts (MA) and a Master of Law (LLM) from Cambridge University, United Kingdom, and has been in legal practice as an advocate and solicitor for over 40 years. He is a member of the Appeals Committee of Bursa Malaysia Berhad. He is also an arbitrator with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Lausanne, Switzerland.

Dato' Thomas Lee is currently the Senior Partner of Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill. He is the Chairman of ABMB and Alliance Investment Bank Berhad (AIBB). He also holds directorships in UMW Holdings Berhad, Saujana Consolidated Berhad, Saujana Resort (M) Berhad, AIG General Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad, American International Assurance Berhad and several private companies.

 
 

Mr Peter Seah was appointed to the Board of ABMB on 19 July 2005. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) degree from the former University of Singapore in 1968. He retired as Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 2001 after serving 24 years with Overseas Union Bank Ltd, Singapore. With more than 32 years experience in the banking and financial industry, Peter Seah is currently the Chairman of SembCorp Industries Ltd, Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd and Singapore Computer Systems Limited and a member of the Temasek Holdings Advisory Panel.

He is the Deputy Chairman of Global Crossing Limited, Singapore Technologies Telemedia Pte Ltd and STT Communications Ltd in Singapore. He is also a director of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation and Fullerton Financial Holdings Pte Ltd.

 
 

Mr Phoon Siew Heng was appointed to the Board of ABMB on 19 July 2005. He is currently an Executive Advisor in Wah Hin & Co (Pte) Ltd. Mr Phoon was with Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited from 1999 to September 2007 where he was appointed the Chief Investment Officer at Temasek Holdings in December 2006. Prior to joining Temasek, Mr Phoon was with Standard Chartered Merchant Bank Asia Limited, and was a Deputy Director in the Ministry of Finance, Singapore, from 1988 to 1992.

Mr Phoon holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree from Monash University, Australia. He also sits on the Boards of AFGB, AIBB and STATS ChipPAC Ltd.

 
 

Chua Eng Kee was appointed to the Board of ABMB on 28 January 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree from University of Malaya. He has over 30 years of experience in the banking industry having worked in a merchant bank, finance company, commercial banks and as an appointee of Bank Negara Malaysia from 1987 to 1991.

Mr Chua has held senior positions in various financial institutions and has vast experience in corporate, wholesale, retail and investment banking and corporate advisory.

Currently, he is the Chairman of the Group Risk Management Committee.

 
 

Tuan Haji Megat Dziauddin was appointed to the Board of ABMB on 21 April 2006. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Econs) (Hons) degree from the Queen's University of Belfast, Northern Ireland and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland as well as a Chartered Accountant with MIA.

With more than 30 years of experience in senior managerial capacities, Tuan Haji Megat had served with Golden Hope Plantations Berhad as Group Director-Finance, Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank Berhad first as General Manager-Operations and later as General Manager-Investment, Bank Simpanan Nasional as Finance Manager and the Accountant-General's Department as Treasury Accountant.

He currently sits on the Boards of AFGB, AIBB, AIMB, AIS, MNRB Holdings Berhad, MNRB Retakaful Berhad, Malaysian Reinsurance Berhad, Pernec Corporation Berhad and four subsidiaries of Felda Holdings Berhad.

 
 

Kung Beng Hong was appointed to the Board of ABMB on 28 December 2007. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Economics from the University of Malaya. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers Malaysia.

Mr Kung has more than 40 years working experience in the banking industry and has held numerous senior management positions, mainly in Malaysia, including CEO/directorship positions in three banks. His experience includes positions held in Citibank N.A. in the United States of America and Singapore. He is presently the Advisor of Fullerton Financial Holdings Pte Ltd and sits on the Boards of AFGB and AIBB. He also holds directorships in Asian Institute of Finance Berhad and UOA Asset Management Sdn Bhd.

 
 

Tan Yuen Fah was appointed to the Board of ABMB on 18 March 2008. He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom (UK). He also holds a post-graduate diploma in Business Administration from the Manchester Business School, UK. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore, CPA (Australia), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.

Mr Tan was in the commerce and industry sector for 11 years prior to joining the banking and finance sector. He joined Overseas Union Bank Ltd, Singapore in 1979, holding various senior positions and retired in 2002 as Executive Vice President.

He is currently a Director of AFGB, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd, Singapore Food Industries Limited, Guthrie GTS Limited, Overseas Union Insurance Ltd, Fullerton Fund Management Company Ltd, Wildlife Reserves Singapore Pte Ltd and the National Kidney Foundation in Singapore.

 
 

Aged 55, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Board of ABMB on 24 April 2009. He was admitted to the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn, London in 1978 and enrolled as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court in Malaya in 1979. He is a practising advocate and solicitor.

Mr Tee was formerly the Chairman of the Negeri Sembilan Bar Committee and a member of the Bar Council. He has practical experience in several areas of legal work, in particular civil litigation, conveyancing, corporate matters including banking and finance, estate matters and trust.

He currently sits on the Boards of Alliance Investment Management Berhad, Alliance Trustee Berhad, The Nomad Group Berhad and several other private companies. He is the Board Chairman of International Commercial Bank (Lao) Limited.

 
 

Age 56, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Board of ABMB on 24 April 2009 and he has over 33 years of experience in banking, corporate finance and advisory services. He is also a director of Alliance Investment Bank Berhad (AIBB) and Alliance Islamic Bank Berhad.

Encik Zakaria has held senior positions in various organisations including Maybank Berhad, Bumiputra Merchant Bankers Bhd, Technology Resources Industries Bhd, Malaysia Helicopters Services Bhd, Natwide Group of Companies and KYM Holdings Bhd.

Encik Zakaria possesses a Bachelor of Economics degree from University of Malaya and is a qualified Certified Financial Planner and is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia.
