- As far as possible the number of authorised repossessors must be minimized unless circumstances warrant any additional assistance.
(Seboleh-bolehnya, jumlah pengambil semula milik yang dibenarkan hendaklah kecil melainkan keadaan memerlukan bantuan tambahan)
- Repossessors should only gain entry into premises with the knowledge and consent of the occupant.
(Pengambil semula milik hanya boleh memasuki kawasan tempat tinggal (premis) dengan pengetahuan dan kebenaran penghuni)
- Repossessors should be well mannered and dress decently. They should ensure the practise of professionalism and dignity in carrying out their work.
(Pengambil semula milik hendaklah bersopan santun dan berpakaian kemas. Mereka harus mengekalkan tahap professionalisme dan kewibawaan dalam menjalankan tugas mereka)
- The use of "strong arm tactics" of any kind is strictly prohibited in the performance of their work.
(Penggunaan taktik ganas (kekasaran) dalam apa jua bentuk adalah dilarang semasa menjalankan tugas mereka)
- At the time of repossession, the repossessors should give a standard notice to the hirer informing him/her of the following:-
(Semasa mengambil semula milik, pengambil semula milik dimestikan mengemukakan notis kepada penyewa dan memaklumkan perkara-perkara berikut:-)
- The address and telephone number of the finance company and the authorized officers he/she can contact immediately to resolve any problem.
(Alamat dan nombor telefon syarikat kewangan dan pegawai yang diberi kuasa untuk dihubungi segera bagi menyelesaikan apa-apa masalah)
- The repossessors must give a reasonable time to the hirer to inspect the vehicle and remove his personal items and belongings.
(Pengambil semula milik sesebuah kenderaan perlu memberi masa yang berpatutan kepada penyewa untuk memeriksa kenderaan dan mengeluarkan barang-barang kepunyaannya)
- As far as possible, repossession should be undertaken in the presence of the hirer or any person authorised to that car.
(Seboleh-sebolehnya, pengambil semula milik hendaklah dijalankan dihadapan penyewa atau sesiapa yang dibenarkan membawa kenderaan tersebut)
- Repossessors should at all times act in accordance with the laws and regulations in the performance of their works.
(Pengambil semula milik hendaklah pada bila-bila masa mengambil tindakan mengikut undang-undang dan peraturan yang sedia terpakai)
- All repossessors should be given and briefed on the Code of Ethics On Repossession and abide by its terms. They should also observe any other Code of Ethics introduced by the Association of Hire Purchase Companies Malaysia, the Association of Finance Companies of Malaysia and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs from time to time.
(Semua pengambil semula milik perlu diberi salinan dan diberi taklimat mengenai Kod Etika Pengambil Semula Milik ini oleh syarikat yang memberi pinjaman dan mematuhi syarat-syarat yang dikenakan. Mereka perlu juga mematuhi mana-mana Kod Etika yang diperkenalkan dari masa ke semasa oleh Persatuan Syarikat-Syarikat Sewa Beli Malaysia, Persatuan Syarikat-Syarikat Kewangan Malaysia dan Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Hal Ehwal Pengguna)
